About this person

Born Ahmed Muhammad Helmy Abdel Rahman Awwad on 18 November 1968, he started in 1993 hosting Leib Eyal, a children's show on Egyptian Satellite Channel. His film debut came in 1998 with Aboud at the Border, which pushed him past the TV audience into theaters. From there he strung together a long commercial streak - El Nazer in 2000, Keda Reda in 2007, X-Large in 2011 - each one landing him deeper in the middle of Egyptian popular comedy. By the end of two decades on screen, he'd become the face people expected when they wanted to laugh.
