Shi'a cleric and Iraqi poet (1928–2003)
Ahmed al-Waeli al-Laithi al-Kinani (1928–2003) was a prominent Iraqi Arab Shia Islamic scholar and orator, who preached through books and lectures. He was also a poet. His poems represent his personality, spirituality and belief. In addition to his traditional studies in Najaf, he obtained a master's degree from the University of Baghdad and a PhD from Cairo University.
