Adolfo Suárez González, 1st Duke of Suárez was a Spanish lawyer and politician who was Prime Minister of Spain from 1976 to 1981. He was the country's first democratically elected prime minister since the Second Spanish Republic and a key figure in the country's transition to democracy after the dictatorship of Francisco Franco.
