Saint Spyridon

Born around 270, Spyridon tended sheep before entering the clergy and eventually becoming Bishop of Tremithus on Cyprus. He lived through the final persecutions of Christians under Rome and into the era of Constantine's legalization of the faith. By the time of his death in 348, he had become a figure of local devotion. That devotion spread across centuries, making him a saint honored in both Eastern Orthodoxy and Western Catholicism—a rare bridge in a divided church.
