José Manuel Rodríguez Delgado was a Spanish physician, professor, and researcher of physiology and neurobiology, internationally celebrated for his pioneering research in the electrical stimulation of the brain. His studies paved the way for modern techniques such as deep brain stimulation (DBS), which is currently used in the treatment of Parkinson's disease, epilepsy, and depression.
