Born 26 July 1967, Statham spent his youth diving competitively for Great Britain at the 1990 Commonwealth Games and working market stalls, a detail that caught Guy Ritchie's eye and landed him in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998) and Snatch (2000).
