Ismail

Born to Abraham and Hagar, Ismail became the namesake of the Ishmaelites and the paternal half-brother of Isaac, forefather of the Israelites. Islamic tradition associates him closely with Mecca and credits him with helping to construct the Kaaba, the structure now at the center of Masjid al-Haram, Islam's holiest site.
