The middle day of the days counted, so one week of news cannot move it. The line under it is the last 401 days, one point a day.
Something wrong?Brandon Herrera turned firearm YouTube videos into a congressional campaign. Known online as The AK Guy, he builds guns, tests them on camera, and parlayed a decade of that into two Republican primary runs for a Texas House seat - losing the first by a single point, winning the second when his opponent dropped out.

About this person
Herrera launched his YouTube channel in 2014 at nineteen, carving out a niche testing firearms and walking through historical weapons with a mechanic's eye and a policy edge. The AK Guy nickname stuck. By 2024 he'd leveraged the audience into a long-shot primary challenge against sitting Republican Tony Gonzales in Texas's 23rd district, a race that went to a runoff and ended with Herrera down by roughly one percent. Two years later he ran again, forced another runoff, and this time Gonzales bowed out - handing the nomination to the gun manufacturer who'd started filming in his twenties.
