Alberto Chicote del Olmo was born 23 June 1969 and built his name in kitchens by crossing borders: he mixed Asian products and techniques with Spanish tradition, helping pioneer what became known as fusion cuisine. The work took him to gastronomic conferences like Madrid Fusion and master classes around the world. Then television found him. He fronted Pesadilla en la cocina, the Spanish Kitchen Nightmares, on LaSexta and became a fixture in Spanish homes. Top Chef on Antena 3 followed. Since 2016-17 he has co-hosted the Twelve Grapes broadcast every New Year's Eve with Cristina Pedroche - an annual ritual watched by millions.
