Born in Kemerovo in 1961, Yelena Malysheva trained as an internist and cardiologist before finding an unusual calling: translating medicine for a mass audience. She launched Zdorovye in October 1997, then added Zhit zdorovo! in August 2010, both on Channel One, building a two-decade run as Russia's most visible health educator. She held a professorship at Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry while anchoring the shows. The combination - clinical credibility, accessible delivery, relentless scheduling - made her the default voice for wellness in Russian homes.
