## Bio

Te Karehana Toi was born 26 October 1993, and grew up Māori in a country not known for producing soul singers of his register. He took the name Teeks and began building a following on feeling alone - no gimmick, just that voice. In January 2020 he shot the video for "Without You" in Hokianga, his father's territory and the place he calls his favourite in the world; the single dropped that August. His debut album, Something to Feel, arrived 26 March 2021, and by then the weight in his delivery had already made the case.
