## Bio

Born November 13, 1972, Kimura rose as a member of SMAP, one of Asia's best-selling boy bands, before crossing into acting. His first lead role came in 1996's Long Vacation, a drama so massive it spawned its own term - the "Lon-bake phenomenon" - and set the pattern for what followed. Love Generation in 1997, Beautiful Life in 2000, Hero in 2001, and Good Luck!! in 2003 all hit the same heights, each one a ratings juggernaut that dominated conversation as it aired. He won Best Actor at the Television Drama Academy Awards eleven times, more than anyone else. Beyond television he voiced Howl in Howl's Moving Castle in 2004, starred in the films Love and Honor and Hero, and later became the face and motion-capture performer for detective Takayuki Yagami in the Judgment video game series.
