He served as a deputy to the Sejm of the Polish People's Republic during the 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th convocations of the Sejm of the Polish People's Republic, Deputy Prime Minister of Poland from 1956 to 1969, deputy chairman of the Council of State from 1952 to 1956, and a member of the Council of State from 1969 to 1972.
