## Bio

Russell Howard was born 23 March 1980 and came up through the British circuit citing Lee Evans, Richard Pryor, and Frank Skinner as touchstones. His 2006 Edinburgh Festival Fringe show earned him an Edinburgh Comedy Award nomination and that same year he won Best Compère at the Chortle Awards. Mock the Week gave him the panel-show profile, but Russell Howard's Good News - his own vehicle built around reacting to the headlines - became the engine, running for years and proving a lighter take on current events could hold a crowd. The Russell Howard Hour followed the same template, locking in his lane as the guy who finds the warm angle on a cold week.
