## Bio

George Roger Waters co-founded Pink Floyd in 1965 as bassist, and after Barrett's 1968 departure became the band's principal lyricist and conceptual driver. Under his leadership they released The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals, The Wall, and The Final Cut — concept albums that made them one of the most commercially successful groups in rock history by the early 1980s. Creative differences pushed him out in 1985, triggering a legal fight over the band's name that settled in 1987. His solo catalog includes The Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking, Radio K.A.O.S., Amused to Death, and a French Revolution opera, Ça Ira. In 1990 he staged The Wall – Live in Berlin for 450,000 people; his 2010–2013 Wall Live tour became the highest-grossing solo artist tour at the time. His political stances — defending Putin and the Russian invasion, supporting BDS, calling Israel's actions apartheid and likening them to Nazi Germany — have drawn bans from Frankfurt, Poland, MLB, and multiple other entities amid accusations of antisemitism he calls conflations with anti-Zionism.
