# Rebecca Black

> The punchline became the whole career. In 2011, a homemade music video for "Friday" made her the internet's favorite punching bag - derided as one of the worst songs ever recorded, it still climbed to #58 on the Hot 100. Fifteen years later, she's still here.

## Bio

Rebecca Renee Black was born June 21, 1997, and at thirteen recorded "Friday," a single that went viral in 2011 for all the wrong reasons. Critics called it among the worst songs ever made; it charted anyway. She followed with "Saturday" in 2013, then went quiet for years. In 2021, Rebecca Black Was Here marked a deliberate shift in sound, steering away from novelty and toward something darker. Let Her Burn arrived in February 2023 to favorable reviews - the first time her music was taken seriously. Two more releases followed: Salvation in 2025, and Age of the Exhibitionist in September 2026. The girl who sang about which seat to take is now a DJ, a songwriter, and proof that you can outlast your own joke.
