## Bio

Nigel Mansell spent 15 seasons in Formula One, starting in 1980, and collected 31 Grand Prix wins before claiming the World Drivers' Championship with Williams in 1992. As reigning F1 champion he made an unlikely jump to American open-wheel racing and won the IndyCar World Series with Newman/Haas in his debut season, 1993 — a double no one else has managed. He returned to Formula One and in 1994 became the last driver to win a Grand Prix past 40, taking the Australian round at 41. He's second among British drivers in F1 wins, behind only Lewis Hamilton, and eighth on the all-time list. After Formula One he raced in Grand Prix Masters in 2005 and won that title, then ran sports cars at Le Mans and Silverstone with his sons, and was inducted into the International Motorsports Hall of Fame the same year.
