## Bio

Cohen joined the Trump Organization in 2006 and spent the next twelve years as Trump's attorney and vice president, moving through roles that included co-president of Trump Entertainment and deputy finance chairman of the Republican National Committee. In August 2018, a year into the special counsel's Russia investigation, he pleaded guilty to eight counts - campaign-finance violations, tax fraud, bank fraud - and told a court he violated campaign law at Trump's direction "for the principal purpose of influencing" the 2016 election. Three months later he pleaded guilty to lying to Congress about efforts to build a Trump Tower in Moscow. He was sentenced to three years in federal prison and a $50,000 fine, disbarred in New York in February 2019, and reported to Otisville that May. He completed his sentence in November 2021. The two men have since traded lawsuits over unpaid legal fees and alleged breaches of trust, both settled or dropped before trial.
