> Lajos Lóczy Germanized as Ludwig von Lóczy was a Hungarian geologist, paleontologist, and explorer. He was a professor of geology at the University of Budapest from 1886 and directed the Hungarian Geological Institute from 1908. His son Lajos Lóczy (1891-1980) also became a geologist.
