## Bio

Kamogelo Matona was born on 29 November 1999 in South Africa, arriving just as the country's electronic music underground was beginning to stir. She started as a dancer, and when she posted a video of herself moving to amapiano - the percussive, jazz-fed house variant surging through Johannesburg townships - the clip caught fire and made her an internet celebrity. The attention didn't stay confined to the screen: she leveraged the viral moment into a recording career, stepping behind the mic to sing over the same beats she'd been interpreting with her body. Now she works both lanes, performing and recording as the genre pushes outward from South Africa toward global floors.
