Blough played college football for the Purdue Boilermakers and played with the NFL's Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings, and Arizona Cardinals. He began coaching in 2024 with the Commanders as an assistant quarterbacks coach and was promoted to offensive coordinator in 2026. Blough is married to Colombian American hurdler Melissa Gonzalez and is the brother-in-law of NFL cornerback Christian Gonzalez.
