## Bio

Ballinger launched Miranda Sings in 2008 as satire: an egotistical, comically terrible singer unaware of her own lack of talent, mocking the wave of bad audition videos then flooding YouTube. The character caught on. By the mid-2010s Ballinger was touring theatres worldwide, had won a Teen Choice Award and a Streamy, and starred in the Netflix original Haters Back Off from 2016 to 2017. She published two best-selling books in Miranda's voice, appeared on The Tonight Show three times, and played Dawn in the Broadway production of Waitress in 2019. Her combined YouTube channels - Miranda Sings, her personal channel, and a vlog channel - passed 5 billion views. In July 2023 she cancelled her live tour following allegations of inappropriate conduct. She continues to post vlogs and host podcasts.
