## Bio

Emeka Akumefule was born on 29 January 1996 and built his name as Blaqbonez through a distinct rap style and unorthodox creative choices that connected hard with younger listeners. The New York Times profiled him in 2019 as part of Nigerian music's new guard, the same year his self-proclaimed "BRIA" status set the hip hop space on fire from July through September. He spent years carving out one of rap's most loyal fan bases before releasing "Sex Over Love", a debut album the public was primed to receive. His humor and approach earned him co-signs from two of the biggest names in Afrobeats, and he's signed to Chocolate City with the fanbase still growing.
