## Bio

Briolette Kah Bic Runga was born 13 January 1976 and records under her middle name. As a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, she built a domestic stronghold first: each of her first three studio albums debuted at number one on the New Zealand Top 40. Then "Sway", released in 1997, carried her reach across the Tasman and onward to Ireland and the United Kingdom. The song became her international calling card, a quiet proof that a voice from the edge of the map could travel.
