# Alfred Stillé

> Alfred Stillé was an American physician and medical educator. He was a professor of medicine at Pennsylvania Medical College from 1864 to 1884 and at the University of Pennsylvania. He served as Chair of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and was one of the first physicians to differentiate between typhus and typhoid fever. He helped to establish the American Medical Association and served as president from 1871 to 1872.
